Senior Project Manager

Job Summary

Senior Project Manager responsible for leading regional Data Centre projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery, budget control, compliance, and stakeholder engagement across greenfield and brownfield developments.

Responsibilities

• Manage execution of new Data Centre projects regionally, including greenfield and brownfield sites
• Support country project leads and oversee all project phases: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, controlling, and closing
• Develop project master programs, charters, and establish project processes for effective delivery
• Source and assemble specialist and subject matter experts to form project delivery teams
• Translate business requirements into clear, executable project deliverables
• Prepare and manage project capital budgets, monitor cash flow, and control spending within approved limits
• Lead tendering and procurement administration processes to secure project resources
• Report project progress and expenditure accurately and timely to management
• Apply technical knowledge of Data Centre risk redundancy configurations and requirements to project planning and execution
• Oversee daily construction activities ensuring compliance with Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards in a timely and cost-efficient manner
• Research and assist in implementing new technologies to enhance current or new Data Centres
• Utilize knowledge of Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) critical systems (e.g., UPS, Generator, Chiller, Cooling Tower) including testing and commissioning procedures (FAT, SAT, IST)
• Interpret civil and architectural drawings and details to support schedule development and efficient project delivery
• Ensure project contractors implement Environment, Safety, and Occupational Health requirements
• Read and interpret design and construction drawings across architectural, structural, and M&E disciplines
• Maintain strong stakeholder relationships to facilitate communication, provide updates, and resolve concerns
• Foster a culture of quality assurance and continuous improvement within the project team
• Ensure projects comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies
• Willingness to travel regionally up to 25% as required

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in project or construction management with proven success in greenfield and/or brownfield Data Centre projects
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or Architecture
• Demonstrated leadership skills with effective problem-solving in complex project environments
• Strong communication skills in English with attention to detail for clear reporting and coordination
• Proven negotiation and interpersonal skills to manage vendors and stakeholders effectively
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Proficiency in project management software tools such as MS Project
