Job Description

We are seeking to invite a Senior Project Engineer, with a background in Naval Architecture or Electrical Engineering, to lead project execution of electric vessels from concept design through to commissioning.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Develop product lines for commercialisation in line with its growth strategies and business plan. This involves working closely with customers to identify operational needs, challenges and propose how this can be addressed with our product offerings.
  2. Compare, evaluate and adopt the latest commercially available technologies to maximise the energy efficiency of vessels. This includes different ways to reduce drag such as hull design optimisation, hydrofoil, air lubrication, lightweight hull materials etc. Balance CAPEX with reduction in OPEX.
  3. Oversee the product development and execution of one or more products through its phases (concept design, detailed engineering, procurement, construction, integration, commissioning and testing) to deliver a fleet of advanced electric vessels and charging infrastructure in accordance with the approved budget and schedule.
  4. Provide leadership and mentorship to multi-discipline project team. Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Maintain high team morale at all times.
  5. Support the vessel's Business Development Team to expand the product portfolio in existing and emerging markets.
  6. Improve relationship with existing suppliers and identify new suppliers and or service providers in the marine electrification sector for long term partnership.
  7. Deliver product(s) with a high level of reliability by performing sound engineering, conducting technical + commercial evaluation during equipment selection, and proper QA/QC at shipyards during construction. Implement processes for continuous improvement and optimisation by getting constant feedback from the Operation Team.
  8. Develop and implement effective change management procedures to safeguard the scope, schedule and budget.
  9. Ensure that products comply with relevant Class and regulations requirements that the vessels will operate in.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in engineering preferably in naval architecture, electrical or marine engineering
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrate ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment and deliver results on time and within budget.
  • Knowledge of marine industry best practices, Class and regulatory requirements.
