Job Description:
The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for managing and executing complex projects within the Air Conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation (ACMV) sector. This position ensures that all project activities are carried out efficiently, in compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and client requirements. The role involves leading project planning, coordination, and delivery efforts across all stages - from conceptual design to project handover - while ensuring cost, quality, and schedule objectives are met.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning: Formulate detailed project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations to ensure timely and effective execution.
  • HVAC System Design and Installation: Supervise the design, specification, and installation of HVAC systems, including ductwork, piping, and equipment selection.
  • Site Monitoring and Progress Updates: Oversee on-site activities, monitor work progress, and prepare regular status reports for management and clients.
  • Stakeholder Management: Foster strong working relationships and effective communication with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams to align objectives.
  • Documentation Management: Maintain comprehensive and accurate project documentation, including drawings, specifications, correspondence, and progress records.
  • Change Management: Evaluate and manage design or scope changes, ensuring all variations are properly assessed, approved, and documented.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks to minimize potential impacts on cost, quality, and timelines.
  • Maintenance Programs: Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans to enhance system performance and energy efficiency.
  • Site Inspections: Conduct technical site inspections to verify quality, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with design and safety standards.
  • Team Management: Supervise, mentor, and guide project engineers and technicians to achieve operational excellence.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with architects, consultants, and contractors to ensure seamless integration of HVAC systems into overall building designs.
  • Industry Knowledge: Continuously update technical expertise and industry awareness to adopt innovative and sustainable engineering solutions.
  • Technical Support: Provide expert engineering advice and troubleshooting assistance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure full adherence to safety regulations, industry codes, and quality assurance procedures.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present technical reports, performance summaries, and project updates to management and clients.
  • Business Development: Support company growth through tender preparation, proposal development, and client engagement initiatives.

Job Requirements:

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in the ACMV field, specifically with HVAC systems and projects.

Educational Qualification:

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent qualification.

Technical Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, including equipment selection, load calculations, and ductwork design.
  • Familiarity with local building codes, standards, and regulations related to HVAC system design and installation.

Project Management:

  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage timelines, resources, budgets, and team performance effectively.

Communication Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with clients, contractors, and cross-functional teams.

Software Proficiency:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and other design software for HVAC system design and drafting.

Analytical and Troubleshooting:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex issues and develop efficient solutions.
