Job Description

Job Title: Senior Production Engineer, Medical Device (2 year contract)

Location: Singapore

About the role:

Our client is a global leader in the medical device manufacturing industry, renowned for setting high standards in product quality and operational excellence. The company has a significant presence in the sector, wholly committed to the development and production of innovative, life-changing devices.

They are looking to hire a Senior Production Engineer to drive the optimization and seamless execution of their manufacturing operations. This role would be a Subject Matter Expert responsible for developing, refining, and overseeing all production engineering projects, processes, and methods. The core objective is to enhance operational performance, minimize waste and delays, and drive cost reductions through process optimization and production transfers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement innovative manufacturing methods and processes to strengthen production capabilities and support new product development.
  • Leverage in-depth knowledge of manufacturing systems, tooling, and equipment to enhance process performance with a focus on cost efficiency and operational excellence.
  • Apply Lean, Kaizen, and Kanban principles to drive continuous improvement initiatives, improving quality, reliability, and productivity.
  • Perform time studies and data analysis across production lines to uncover opportunities for optimizing workflows, layouts, and resource utilization.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to ensure compliance with best practices, quality requirements, and industry standards.
  • Develop, update, and maintain comprehensive documentation for new processes and engineering procedures, ensuring full regulatory compliance.
  • Apply statistical analysis to identify root causes of failures, implement corrective actions, and optimize product performance and specifications.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in the medical device manufacturing industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of ISO 13485 and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Proficient in SAP and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) to streamline processes would be highly advantageous
  • Prior experience with Lean, Kaizen, Kanban, and other advanced tools to drive continuous improvement would be highly advantageous
  • Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills, with experience in diverse, multicultural environments.
