JOB DESCRIPTION:
Department: Product Planning Engineer
Reports to: Manager
Functional relationships:
- MLCC process engineering in Japan factories
- MLCC related R&D in Japan
- Cross-Functional Teams (CFT): Process, Quality, Production, Production Control and so on.
POSITION PROFILE:
- The Product Planning Engineer (Trainee) will be part of a one-year Overseas Training Program (OTP) from Japan, assigned to MES Yishun R&D.
- The primary role is to act as a key bridge between Japan R&D and MES, supporting communication, alignment, and execution of development activities.
- The trainee will also participate in new product development aligned with SP5112 development direction, while actively building strong working relationships with local MES members and Cross-Functional Teams (CFTs).
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Bridge & Communication
- Act as a key communication bridge between Japan R&D and MES Yishun R&D to ensure alignment and clear understanding of technical requirements.
- Support clarification of Japan R&D specifications and consolidate MES feedback for sharing with Japan.
Product & Technology Development
- Support new item development aligned with SP5112 development direction.
- Assist in technical evaluation, sample build, testing, and improvement activities with local engineers.
Collaboration & Networking
- Build strong working relationships with MES local members and Cross Functional Teams (CFT).
- Participate in project meetings, technical discussions, and progress reviews.
Learning & Contribution
- Gain hands-on understanding of MES processes and development practices.
- Identify improvement or alignment gaps and share relevant learnings from Japan R&D.
Ability/Competency required:
- To hold bachelor's degree or master's degree in engineering or science field.
- At least 3 years of working experience in electronics manufacturing industry.
- To have deep & specialized technical knowledge in plating process and to be able to fully utilize it in actual job for improvement.
- To have business fluent Japanese and English language skills to liaise with Japan factories & R&D departments, and local staff in MES factory.
- To have logical thinking, analytical skill and good engineering sense.
- To have strong mind-set for change and improvement.
- To have proactive attitude and strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- To have networking ability with MLCC related functions.
