Job Description

Senior Product Manager (Fiat Payments)

About Gate

Founded in 2013, Gate is a top-three global cryptocurrency exchange trusted by over 50 million users worldwide. We offer a full suite of digital asset trading and wealth management services — and we're building the next era of Web3 through innovation, speed, and bold collaboration. We are a remote-first, globally distributed team where every voice counts and every idea has the potential to shape what comes next.

About GatePay

GatePay is a crypto-native payment network under Gate, enabling businesses and platforms to send, receive, and integrate crypto payments globally. We're on a mission to make crypto a real-world payment layer — and we're growing fast.

The Role:

80%+ of stablecoin payment volume lives in B2B trade, and the core of that is efficient, compliant fiat-stablecoin conversion. As GatePay is already well-established on the crypto-native side, you'll build GatePay's fiat infrastructure from 0 to 1 - one of our most strategically important bets for the next three years, with decision-making scope well beyond a typical Senior PM role.

You'll work at the intersection of Web3 and traditional finance, with real exposure to stablecoins, cross-border trade, and multi-jurisdiction compliance.

You'll have the autonomy to make high-impact decisions, shape our global fiat strategy, and define how merchants around the world move between traditional finance and digital assets.

What You'll Do:

  • Build Global Fiat Infrastructure:Own the strategy and execution of GatePay's fiat on-ramp and off-ramp ecosystem, expanding payment channels, banking partners, and local settlement capabilities globally.
  • Design Merchant-Ready Fiat Products:Develop B2B-focused fiat and stablecoin solutions including virtual accounts, local collections, global payouts, treasury flows, reconciliation tools, multi-currency settlement, and liquidity management capabilities that merchants can deploy immediately into real-world trade workflows.
  • Translate Regulation into Product: Work closely with compliance, legal, KYT, and risk teams to convert regulatory requirements into scalable product controls, operational processes, and system workflows across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Optimize Channel Performance:Build the data and decision framework behind channel operations, including approval rates, settlement speed, FX competitiveness, liquidity efficiency, operational reliability, and cost structure.
  • Lead Cross-Functional Execution:Act as the central coordination point between business development, operations, engineering, compliance, finance, and external partners to drive complex initiatives from concept through launch and scale.
  • Shape GatePay's Long-Term Fiat Strategy:Help define how fiat infrastructure fits into GatePay's broader vision of connecting traditional finance and stablecoin-powered commerce on a global scale.

What We're Looking For:

Must-haves

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Strong proficiency in both English and Mandarin is required for this role, as you will regularly collaborate with stakeholders where these languages are used for business communication.
  • Demonstrated product management experience in both web3/crypto and payments, building products or infrastructure at the intersection of digital assets and financial services.
  • Proven experience working directly with banks, PSPs, EMIs, payment networks, or other financial infrastructure providers—from partner evaluation and commercial discussions through technical integration, launch, and ongoing operations.
  • Strong understanding of payment compliance and regulatory frameworks, with the ability to translate licensing, regulatory, and operational requirements into scalable product design and execution.

Good-to-have

  • Experience launching payment products across multiple regions and regulatory environments.
  • Familiarity with liquidity management, settlement operations, and FX optimization.
