About the Role
The Senior Product Distribution Manager is a senior commercial and product role responsible for the strategic management and commercial performance of PIAS's product proposition across Life Insurance, Health Insurance, and General Insurance. The role owns the end-to-end product lifecycle, from product strategy and market intelligence through provider engagement, product onboarding, launch, adviser enablement, commercial optimisation, ongoing performance management, and eventual product withdrawal.
Product Strategy & Portfolio Management
- Own and develop PIAS's product proposition across Life, Health and General Insurance.
- Build and manage the product roadmap aligned with distribution strategy, adviser needs, client segments and market trends.
- Conduct regular product shelf reviews to identify gaps, overlaps, performance issues and growth opportunities.
- Recommend product onboarding, enhancement, repositioning or withdrawal based on competitiveness, demand and commercial value.
- Ensure a balanced and competitive suite of products and providers.
Market Intelligence & Competitive Benchmarking
- Maintain deep understanding of insurance products across the Singapore market.
- Monitor product launches, pricing changes, underwriting developments and emerging market trends.
- Conduct product comparisons and competitive analysis to identify gaps and opportunities.
- Provide actionable recommendations and regular market intelligence updates to management and advisers.
- Develop product comparison guides, market updates and positioning materials.
Adviser Enablement & Engagement
- Partner with Training and Distribution teams to deliver product training, launch programmes and sales enablement initiatives.
- Develop product playbooks, FAQs, comparison guides and adviser support materials.
- Engage advisers and Distribution Managers regularly to gather feedback on client needs, market developments and product gaps.
- Translate adviser insights into product, provider, training and commercial improvement initiatives.
Provider Relationship & Commercial Management
- Serve as the primary relationship owner for insurers and product providers.
- Develop provider business plans, production targets and commercial objectives.
- Negotiate commissions, incentives, sponsorships, campaigns and other commercial arrangements.
- Conduct regular provider reviews covering performance, pipeline, service standards and business opportunities.
- Manage provider onboarding and hold providers accountable for agreed commitments.
Product Performance & Commercial Optimisation
- Monitor product and provider performance across production, revenue, adviser adoption and profitability metrics.
- Develop management dashboards and performance reporting.
- Identify underperforming products, providers or campaigns and implement improvement plans.
- Evaluate campaign effectiveness, ROI and incentive outcomes, recommending adjustments where necessary.
Product Launch & Governance
- Lead end-to-end implementation of product launches, enhancements, repricing and withdrawals.
- Coordinate stakeholders across Distribution, Compliance, Legal, Finance, Operations, Marketing and Technology.
- Manage product approval and governance processes, including due diligence, APL reviews and committee submissions.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Incentives, Transformation & Process Improvement
- Design and manage adviser incentive frameworks that support strategic product priorities.
- Drive initiatives to improve adviser adoption and incremental business growth.
- Streamline product onboarding, reporting, communication and governance processes.
- Support automation, digital tools and broader distribution transformation initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in insurance product management, distribution, business development or provider management.
- Strong knowledge of Life and Health Insurance products, with working knowledge of General Insurance.
- Good understanding of the Singapore insurance market, adviser distribution landscape and competitive environment.
- Experience managing insurer and provider relationships, including commercial negotiations and business planning.
- Proven experience in product development, benchmarking, positioning and adviser enablement.
- Strong commercial, analytical and data interpretation skills.
- Good understanding of regulatory, governance and product approval requirements.
- Strong project management and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Ability to work independently, influence stakeholders and provide sound commercial recommendations.
