Responsibilities

Editorial

Assist or execute major news projects and special cross-platform coverage
Assist or lead live coverage, including breaking news, wheels and special events, when necessary
Script and produce explainers and backgrounders
Suggest follow up stories and/or improvements to existing stories
Exercise editorial experience to make calls on how to prioritise certain news content over others
Be the final gatekeeper against errors by combing scripts for typos, factual inaccuracies and incorrect technical instructions

Production

Be technically adept at TV production, including being able to use various audio and video editing software and the Octopus word processing tool
Ensure all technical commands are correctly coded in good time for air
Be able to illustrate stories by commissioning maps and other graphics, checking relevant national broadcasters and news feeds
Line produce News Tonight and Singapore Tonight news bulletins
Manage rundowns by trimming stories, dropping content and/or adding last minute news items
Manage the timing and duration of new bulletin.
Handle live coverage with a reporter and/or camera crew on location
