Job Description

  • 2 Year Contract Role, very high chance of Permanent Conversion.
  • Full time office based role (5 days per week) - based at Alexandra Point.
  • Salary to a max of $5,500 per month, with a guaranteed one month bonus.
  • 14 days per year annual leave.
  • Experience of a Purchasing / Procurement role within the F+B industry would be a huge advantage.

Position Overview

The Procurement Manager / Senior Purchasing Specialist oversees sourcing, purchasing, and supplier management to secure a reliable, cost efficient, and high-quality supply of ingredients, packaging, and equipment. The role ensures optimized inventory, food safety compliance, and supports menu development while driving procurement excellence. It also includes responsibility for strengthening the supply chain and maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the SAP system.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and continuously improve procurement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) aligned with business needs, cost targets, and culinary quality requirements.

Establish category strategies covering fresh produce, proteins, dry goods, sauces, beverages, packaging, small equipment, and outsourced services.

Identify, evaluate, and onboard qualified suppliers through a structured sourcing and bidding process.

Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, contracts, rebates, and volume commitments.

Maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure reliability, quality, and cost competitiveness.

Maintain an Approved Supplier List and ensure suppliers meet HACCP/GHP and regulatory standards.

Conduct periodic food safety and quality audits, validating certifications, hygiene practices, and supply chain traceability.

Resolve supplier noncompliance issues promptly and implement corrective action plans.

Collaborate with chefs and operations teams to forecast demand and set appropriate par levels.

Oversee purchase orders, delivery schedules, inbound quality checks, and discrepancy resolution.

Implement FIFO procedures, waste reduction strategies, and cycle count to optimize stock levels and reduce holding costs.

Lead cost control initiatives including vendor consolidation, competitive tendering, price benchmarking, and contract optimization.

Support menu engineering and R&D by sourcing new ingredients, testing alternatives, and assessing cost impacts of new product launches.

Ensure central kitchen receives timely and accurate supplies to support production schedules.

Manage equipment, packaging, and operational consumables purchasing to ensure outlet needs are consistently met.

Track procurement KPIs including cost savings, spend analysis, stock turn, fill rate, supplier performance, and lead time adherence.

Maintain accurate procurement records, price lists, and contract repositories.

Ensure compliance with food safety laws, import/export regulations, and company policies.

Mitigate supply risks through diversification, contingency planning, and supplier performance management.

Lead, coach, and develop procurement executives and purchasing staff.

Foster cross functional collaboration with finance, operations, kitchen development, marketing, and supply chain teams.

Qualifications / Experience Required

Minimum 58 years of procurement experience, preferably in F&B, food manufacturing, restaurants, or central kitchen environments.

Strong understanding of perishable supply chains, ingredient quality standards, and food safety requirements.

Skills & Competencies

Strong negotiation, analytical, and vendor management skills.

Knowledge of HACCP/GHP, food import rules, and regulatory compliance.

Proficient in inventory systems, procurement software, and Microsoft Excel.

Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to thrive in a fast paced, multioutlet operational environment.

Well versed in SAP & Vendor Invoices Management System
