We are supporting an established Singapore-based engineering and product manufacturer to hire a Senior Procurement Executive. This role sits at the intersection of supplier quality, OEM sourcing, and product development, supporting the company's growing portfolio of engineered hardware products. This is not a transactional purchasing role. The position requires someone comfortable working closely with factories, resolving product issues, and driving supplier performance improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Supplier Quality & Issue Resolution
- Lead investigations into product quality issues and drive root cause analysis with OEM suppliers
- Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) with factories to eliminate recurring defects
- Monitor production batches and identify early deviations in product quality
- Maintain clear documentation and reporting of quality cases across internal teams
OEM Product Development Support
- Work with suppliers and internal teams to support new product development and production readiness
- Assess materials, component specifications, and manufacturing feasibility
- Collaborate with design teams on packaging, manuals, and product improvements
- Standardise components across product lines to improve consistency and reduce cost
Supplier & Supply Chain Management
- Build strong relationships with OEM manufacturers and key suppliers
- Conduct supplier reviews and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Manage supply risks and ensure product availability and reliability
- Work closely with sales and commercial teams to ensure product profitability
Cost & Efficiency Improvements
- Identify cost reduction opportunities across sourcing and production
- Support sourcing strategies that improve efficiency and supply resilience
- Contribute to sustainability initiatives in materials and packaging
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Product Design, or a related discipline
- 35 years of experience in OEM sourcing, supplier quality, technical procurement, or product development
- Experience working with China-based suppliers or manufacturers
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and product specifications
- Ability to read technical drawings or use CAD tools is advantageous
- Strong problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Mandarin proficiency required to communicate with China suppliers
