The Role

As Senior Principal Design, SEA and NEA, you will lead the creative vision of the business across one of the most dynamic and fast-growing workplace markets in the world.

This is a senior regional leadership role responsible for shaping how design contributes to the growth of the business, strengthens client partnerships, and differentiates Unispace in a highly competitive market.

As a senior creative leader, you will shape the design narrative and creative standards within the Singapore studio, working closely with regional leadership, commercial teams, and project teams to ensure design excellence sits at the heart of everything we deliver, while contributing to broader alignment across SEA and NEA over time.

You will lead and inspire a diverse team of designers across the region, creating an environment where creativity, collaboration, and commercial awareness combine to produce exceptional outcomes for clients.

Beyond project delivery, this role plays a critical part in winning work. You will partner closely with our sales and client leadership teams to shape compelling design narratives, support major pitches, and engage directly with clients to translate their ambitions into high-performing workplace environments.

This is an opportunity for a design leader who is equally comfortable setting the creative direction for a region, presenting to C-suite clients, and developing the next generation of design leaders.

The Opportunity

The Senior Principal Design, SEA and NEA acts as the senior design authority for the region, responsible for elevating design quality, strengthening client engagement, and ensuring design remains a key driver of commercial success.

Working closely with the Regional CEO and commercial leadership, you will influence how the business goes to market, ensuring that design thinking plays a central role in how Unispace wins and delivers projects.

Your leadership will ensure that the region consistently delivers innovative, commercially intelligent, and highly differentiated design solutions that strengthen our reputation with clients and within the industry.

You will play a central role in:

. Leading the creative direction of the business in SEA and NEA.

. Elevating design quality and innovation across studios

. Supporting the business to win major client opportunities

. Developing and mentoring future design leaders

What you'll be responsible for

Regional Design Leadership

. Lead the overall design vision and creative direction for SEA and NEA, ensuring a consistent standard of excellence across all studios and projects.

. Champion innovative and forward-thinking design solutions that respond to the evolving needs of our clients, industries, and workplace environments.

. Act as the senior design voice in the region, helping shape how Unispace positions design within its integrated strategy, design, and delivery model.

Client Development and Regional Growth

. Partner closely with regional sales and client leadership teams to support business development and strategic pursuits.

. Lead the design narrative during pitches, helping clients understand how workplace design can unlock performance, culture, and organisational impact.

. Play an active role in major client presentations, workshops, and proposal development across the region.

. Translate client challenges into compelling design concepts that clearly differentiate Unispace in competitive environments.

Client Leadership

. Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders across SEA and NEA.

. Provide strategic design guidance during early project phases to ensure solutions are both creative and commercially viable.

. Act as a senior advisor to clients on workplace strategy, experience design, and emerging workplace trends.

Team Leadership

. Lead, mentor, and inspire design teams across the region.

. Create an environment where designers can thrive creatively while developing their commercial, strategic, and client-facing capabilities.

. Support Principals and Associate Principals in developing their leadership, design influence, and contribution to the business.

. Drive collaboration across design, strategy, and delivery disciplines to ensure integrated project outcomes.

Design Quality and Project Oversight

. Provide senior oversight on key projects to ensure design excellence is maintained from concept through delivery.

. Lead design reviews and critiques across studios to maintain a consistently high design standard.

. Ensure projects align with Unispace methodologies, client expectations, and commercial objectives.

Commercial Performance

. Ensure design decisions support profitable project delivery and long-term client relationships.

. Partner with regional leadership to balance creative ambition with commercial outcomes.

. Support the region in driving sustainable growth through design-led differentiation in the market.

Market Influence

. Represent Unispace within the regional design community through industry engagement, thought leadership, and participation in key client and market conversations.

. Support the continued growth of the Unispace brand by strengthening our reputation for design excellence across SEA and NEA.

. Contribute to industry dialogue around workplace strategy, experience design, and the future of work.

Your Experience

. 15+ years of experience in architecture or interior design

. Extensive experience delivering high-profile workplace or commercial projects

. A strong design portfolio demonstrating creativity, innovation, and technical Excellence

. Proven experience leading design teams and mentoring senior designers

. Significant experience supporting client presentations and competitive pitches

. Strong understanding of workplace strategy and evolving workplace trends

. Experience working within design & build or integrated project environments preferred
