Job Description

Background:

The AI & Data Analytics Strategic Technology Centre (AI.DA STC) is a corporate applied research centre that aims to develop key technologies to support ST Engineering's global growth plans across all our business sectors.

Job Description:

  • Explore and develop new or improved AI techniques through both organic and collaborative R&D efforts.
  • Develop POCs to demonstrate the viability of AI technologies across commercial (aerospace, urban solutions / smart cities, satellite communications) and defence (digital systems, land, marine, aerospace)
  • Demonstrate research efficacy by publishing conference papers, journal articles, filing patents and other means of asserting IP ownership.
  • Work with our Group Engineering Centre and lines of businesses to translate research outcomes into commercially viable products or services.

Requirements:

  • Advanced degree, preferably Ph.D. or Masters in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Sciences or any related discipline with more than 5 years of experience in research or related applied analytical work.
  • In-depth technical knowledge and experience in any of the following topics:
    • Deep Learning (LLMs, Generative AI, Transformers, NLP, etc.)
    • Quantum (ML, Optimisation, cryptography etc.)
    • Computer Vision (Image / Video)
    • Graphs (GNNs, Embeddings, Data Augmentation, etc.)
    • Predictive Maintenance
    • Reinforcement Learning
    • Operations Research (Simulation, Optimisation, Forecasting, etc.)
  • Good experience with end-to-end analytics process, including ideation/value elicitation, requirements definition, data profiling, analytical modelling, testing, validation, visualization, and solutioning.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and passion for artificial intelligence and data science research.
  • Experienced in Python.
  • Experienced in writing research papers.
  • Familiar with distributed computing is a plus.
  • Excellent coordination and time management skills to handle complex projects.
  • Willing and enthusiastic about continuous learning.
