About the role
We are looking for a Senior/Principal Advisor - Credit Risk to join the Commercial Credit Risk team whose function is to offer insightful, proactive, timely and high-quality credit analysis and risk advice to facilitate sound business decisions, promote sustainable growth and protect the company's balance sheet.

Reporting to the Senior Manager - Credit Risk, you will:
Credit Risk Analysis and Portfolio Management
- Analyze qualitative and quantitative data on new/existing counterparties and risk profile of deal/structure in order to determine and recommend credit rating, credit limit, payment terms and credit solutions for the counterparty and the deal/structure.
- Responsible for management of counterparties under assigned portfolio including credit reviews, queries on potential deals/exposures, checks on limits availability, onboarding requests, credit blocks release and credit alerts.
- Management of counterparty relationships together with BU/PG (e.g., onboarding, non-payment/default and/or any credit related events).
- Assess complex transactions in conjunction with BU/PG & functions with an aim to develop appropriate credit solutions and proper credit rights/terms in contracts.
- Responsible for liaising with credit insurers and brokers, other risk teams and functions (e.g. Legal, Finance) to implement credit management measures (e.g., security arrangements, payments terms, credit rights or triggers).
- Collaborate with Sales & Marketing teams on the formulation of solutions to enhance sales value through terms extension while ensuring risks are identified and mitigated.
- Support, advise and partner with Commercial organization in their strategic and operating initiatives to deliver the cash target, margin enhancement and process efficiencies to the Group.
Credit Monitoring and Reporting
- Monitor assigned portfolio daily using available tools/resources/market intelligence and promptly highlighted any adverse credit news within the portfolio and provide early risk alert of credit events.
- Maintain close communication with BU/PG to gain a deep understanding of portfolio, in particular risk factors for the respective industry and counterparties.
- Monitor BU/PG adherence to credit limits and report all credit control breaches.
- Prepare, review and validate credit management reports including sales forecasts, credit exposure, AR aging and excess monitoring as needed by RT, credit insurers and banks.
- Ensure all credit reviews are up-to-date, and all supporting documents are filed.
- Ensure credit processes maintain consistency with relevant governance framework and documents and/or reporting process are in place.
- Prepare presentations for credit committees and insightful analytics/tools for the businesses.
Credit Risk Systems and Credit Risk Projects
- Utilization of various credit risk and accounting systems for credit risk management and administration (e.g., SAP, S&P CIQ).
- Lead and drive standardization and automation of credit related processes and continual improvements for the Credit Risk function.
- Initiate and participate in credit risks system enhancement and reporting needs (e.g., Credit dashboard, Excess reporting).
- Participate or lead in cross functional / BU / PG projects where required.
About you
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
- Degree in business studies and/or finance accounting. A post graduate degree (MBA, CPA, CFA or equivalent) and strong quantitative skills would be advantageous.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience (gained as Credit Risk / Financial Analyst) in a financial institution, commodity trading or metals & mining environment.
- Working knowledge of trade finance solutions, trade credit insurance and parental/corporate guarantees.
- Strong portfolio, analytical and financial analysis skills with ability to communicate final credit decisions and recommendations, both in writing and verbally.
- Team player, mature and able to work independently with minimal supervision and very strong stakeholder management skills.
- Strong PC skills, Advanced Excel and working experience with SAP, S&P CIQ. Python programming and Power BI skill a plus.
- Working knowledge of Mandarin language will be beneficial.
