Senior / Plant & Machinery Manager (Construction Equipment)
Our client is a well-established and credible organisation within Singapore's construction machinery and equipment rental sector, supporting major building and infrastructure projects. They are seeking an experienced Senior/Plant & Machinery Manager to lead large-scale fleet operations and manage a sizeable workforce.
This is a senior leadership role overseeing end-to-end plant and machinery operations, commercial performance, safety, and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a large fleet of construction machinery and equipment (several hundred units), including cranes, concrete equipment, earthmoving machinery, access equipment, forklifts, generators, compressors, and general construction plant.
- Oversee end-to-end rental operations including mobilisation and demobilisation, deployment planning, breakdown recovery, maintenance, testing, and statutory certification.
- Manage day-to-day operations of the plant and machinery rental business to ensure operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Lead and oversee workshop operations, including all repair and preventive maintenance activities.
- Manage billing, procurement, vendor engagement, and cost control within the Plant & Machinery function.
- Work closely with customers at project level, including attending regular coordination meetings to support machinery deployment and resolve operational matters.
- Lead and manage a team of section heads and managers, with a total workforce of over 100 personnel, including operators, mechanics, drivers, drivers, technicians, and support staff.
- Prepare and manage monthly cashflow forecasts and annual revenue and cost budgets.
- Drive safety performance across the department, ensuring compliance with WSH regulations and internal safety standards.
- Review and approve vendors invoices prior to management submission.
- Prepare and present CAPEX proposals for new machinery and equipment investments.
- Review operational processes and implement SOPs to improve efficiency, governance, and cost control.
Experience Required
- Minimum 5 years of managerial experience in a Manager role, managing a large machinery fleet or complex operations with 100+ staff.
- Candidates with more than 10 years of managerial experience may be considered for Senior Manager designation.
- Overall strong background in plant, machinery, heavy equipment, or construction operations.
- Proven experience managing multiple stakeholders and customer relationships at project level.
- Demonstrated ability to drive revenue, manage budgets, control costs, and improve operational performance.
- Hands-on experience managing workplace safety and regulatory compliance.
- Experience in preparing cashflow forecasts, budgets, and management reports.
- Experience in process review and implementation of operational procedures.
- Proficient in MS Office applications.
- Possession of relevant WSH / safety certifications is advantageous.
