Note: Please note that this is a fashion/jewelry demand planning & merchandising role - not related to grocery, store merchandising, or shelf-stock merchandising.
As our Senior Planner and Merchandiser for Ambi, a new brand from Ask & Embla, you will own the end to end merchandising and planning strategy for the brand. You will be accountable for Ambi's commercial performance and the achievement of Merch KPIs. This role requires a senior level professional with strong analytical depth, commercial judgment, and experience guiding or mentoring junior staff. You will lead range planning, forecasting, buying, and in season trading, while working closely with Marketing, Production, and external partners, operating with a high level of independence.
What You'll Do
- Own Ambi merchandising and planning with minimal supervision, independently preparing analysis, recommendations, and commercial actions
- Translate company and brand strategy into clear category, assortment, and trading plans for Ambi
- Plan and own the Ambi range end to end, ensuring a balanced and commercial assortment aligned with the Trading Calendar
- Select and buy new designs, using strong commercial judgment informed by historical data, trends, and market insights
- Own the WSSI and OTB, managing stock, sales, purchases, and risk to support growth and profitability
- Forecast and reforecast sales, inventory, and profit parameters, maintaining accurate visibility on performance and future needs
- Trade the range in season, identifying risks and opportunities and driving actions in collaboration with Marketing and cross functional teams
- Review weekly sales performance and stock availability to propose, justify, and sign off replenishments
- Analyse historical performance, competitor activity, pricing, and market trends to guide range decisions and drive category recommendations
- Propose and implement markdown and promotional activity in a way that protects margin and supports trading goals
- Support Production with clear visibility on sell through, performance indicators, demand signals, and future buying requirements
- Prepare and present structured analysis, insights, and recommendations to internal stakeholders and leadership
- Work cross functionally and with external suppliers to drive outcomes across Merch, Marketing, Creative, Production, Ops, and CX
- Independently manage or oversee day to day merchandising operations for both brands during periods when the Head of Merchandising is away
- Operate proactively with a communication first mindset, seeking out guidance from the Head of Merchandising when needed to clarify objectives, align on priorities, and confirm approaches before execution
- Help manage and mentor more junior staff
Who You Are
- Degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, Economics, Statistics, Supply Chain, or any field with strong analytical or commercial grounding.
- Solid merchandising and planning experience in fashion, jewelry, or a closely related consumer product industry
- Proven experience owning a category, department, or equivalent commercial scope
- Strong analytical capability with confidence working on complex data sets to drive decisions
- Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets and strong working knowledge of Shopify
- Demonstrated experience in range planning, demand forecasting, buying, and in season trading
- Consistent record of taking initiative, working independently, and driving outcomes without close supervision
- Clear and proactive communicator with strong cross functional collaboration skills
- Experience guiding and mentoring junior team members in day to day tasks or analytical work
- Strong commercial judgment and a practical, solution oriented approach in a fast paced environment
