Our client is an established international trading house looking to establish and grow its physical base and refined metals trading business in Singapore.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the strategy for a physical base and refined metals trading business across Asia.
- Build and manage a profitable trading book, identifying new market opportunities and commercial relationships.
- Originate and negotiate physical purchase and sales contracts with producers, consumers, and trading counterparties.
- Develop and manage logistics, financing, warehousing, and supply chain solutions.
- Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing trading team as the platform grows.
- Work closely with risk, operations, finance, and compliance to ensure robust trading governance.
Requirements
- Proven track record in profitable physical base and/or refined metals trading.
- Strong commercial network across producers, consumers, merchants, and logistics providers.
- Experience building or significantly growing a physical trading business is highly desirable.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with strong leadership and business development capabilities.
- Deep understanding of international physical metals markets, trade flows, and risk management.
