Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with the platform development team to explore, define, and converge next-generation fabrication processes for higher performance TFLN PIC devices.
  • Work with the manufacturing team to fabricate designed chips.
  • Improve quality and repeatability of standard fabrication processes and implement fabrication protocols to guarantee quality.
  • Analyze process performance data to identify trends, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement solutions for process-related defects or deviations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Design, Test Engineering, and Production, to drive process optimization initiatives.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation, including process specifications, standard operating procedures, and reports.
  • Support the transfer and qualification of new products or processes into the manufacturing environment.

Job Requirements:

  • PhD degrees in electrical engineering, applied physics, physics or a related discipline with 2 to 5+ years of experience in integrated photonics, semiconductor or microelectronics manufacturing, with a focus on fabrication processes.
  • Expertise with TFLN nanofabrication techniques.
  • Expertise with semiconductor nanofabrication processing techniques (lithography, etching, metallization, etc) and familiarity with the associated tools.
  • Proven ability to characterize devices, analyze and interpret results (SEM, AFM, profilometer, etc).
  • Track records with developing and optimizing new nanofabrication processes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex data sets.
  • Deep knowledge of electromagnetic theory, quantum theory, and related principles
  • Experience with RF/high-speed electronics is a plus
  • Experience in interfacing/managing foundries or OSAT is a plus
  • The role requires the ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English and Mandarin to liaise with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders and to handle work-related documents in both languages.
