About The Role

As a Senior Pharmacist in ALPS, you will be based in one of the 27 Public Healthcare Institutions (PHI) in Singapore, you will be responsible for ensuring the continuity, quality, and cost-effectiveness of pharmaceutical supplies through close collaboration with clinical teams and inventory units. Working in a team, the role involves overseeing procurement and contract submissions, maintaining accurate pharmacy systems, supporting audits, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. You will also play a key role in stakeholder engagement, operational decision-making, and leading pharmacy teams to uphold patient safety and service standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Chair drug evaluation meetings comprising key opinion leaders and other healthcare professionals from different organisations.
• Create opportunities for cost reduction and negotiate for the best outcome.
• Conduct strategic sourcing, horizon scanning and market landscape analysis for pharmaceuticals.
• Keep abreast of the latest development in pharmaceutical research.
• Produce and update drug specifications in accordance with compendial pharmacopoeia standards and regulatory requirements.
• Management of pharmaceutical supply chain and product defect issues.
• Build good working relationships to further strengthen procurement strategies to improve outcomes and establish benchmarking.
• Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals such as clinicians, nurses, and allied health professionals.
• Manage procurement team including performance review, providing guidance and advice on day-to-day work.
• Monitoring and guiding junior staff.
• Assist in developing and implementing national policies/ innovative ideas/ plans to meet organisation and professional goals.
• Review and revise standard operating procedure and policies to improve efficiencies.
• Identify, facilitate, and administer projects on pharmaceutical procurement and supplies.
• Identify and expand new roles and work activities for the department.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in pharmacy.
• A registered pharmacist with the Singapore Pharmacy Council
• Strong interpersonal skills and experience in engaging stakeholders
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficient in Microsoft Office applications, and knowledge in SAP-MM
• At least 5 years of relevant professional practice experience.
• Relevant experience in Procurement and inventory management of drugs and pharmaceutical products.
• Good negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills
• Self-motivated, independent worker with team spirit and good problem solver
