Responsibilities
- Review medication orders to verify patient needs and ensure safety parameters are met. Fill prescriptions as directed by physicians and provide clear usage instructions to patients. Coordinate with healthcare professionals to facilitate accurate medication delivery. Maintain inventory of medications and supplies, adhering to regulatory storage standards. Implement established policies and practices within the pharmacy department. Conduct inspections of drug storage areas and perform assigned duties to support pharmacy operations. Assist in acquiring specialized medications with senior pharmacist approval. Manage and supervise pharmacy assistants and technicians in daily tasks related to prescription filling and inventory management. Maintain accurate records of drug orders, storage, and distribution in compliance with hospital and legal standards. Participate in educational programs and conduct lectures for pharmacy staff and hospital employees. Publish or present research findings related to pharmacy practice annually. Provide clinical training to pre-registration pharmacists and pharmacy students. Represent the pharmacy in committee meetings as designated. Develop patient education materials with senior pharmacist consent. Establish pilot programs or new pharmacy services upon approval from senior pharmacist. Assist in setting pricing for goods with senior pharmacist approval. Recommend improvements to pharmacy policies and procedures. Collaborate with the senior pharmacist to periodically review policy and procedural documents.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited institution. Registration with the Singapore Pharmacy Council. Relevant hospital experience preferred but not essential. Ability to work independently and effectively communicate with stakeholders. Basic supervisory and management skills.
