Our client is a leading lifestyle group with a well-established Asia Pacific presence. With payroll operations spanning multiple APAC markets, they are seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Manager to lead their regional payroll function on a 1 year contract basis.
You will take ownership of end-to-end payroll operations across the APAC region, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with local statutory and tax requirements. You will manage and develop the regional payroll team, oversee outsourced payroll vendors, and act as the primary liaison between HR, Finance, and external authorities.
Beyond day-to-day operations, you will drive payroll accounting and controls while maintaining audit readiness across internal and external reviews. You will champion continuous improvement initiatives, standardise documentation and SOPs, and support payroll system enhancements including Workday integration and automation projects. You will also contribute to strategic payroll transformation programmes aligned with broader regional finance objectives.
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field
- Minimum 10 years of regional, hands-on payroll experience with end-to-end processing exposure with least 7 years of leadership or supervisory experience managing payroll teams
- Proven multi-country payroll expertise across APAC, with strong knowledge of local labour laws, statutory requirements, and payroll tax regulations
- Demonstrated experience managing outsourced third-party payroll vendors across multiple jurisdictions
- Familiarity with HRIS and payroll system integration projects, including Workday
- Strong communicator and collaborator, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders across Finance and HR
- Candidate available in short notice / immediately available preferred
