Senior Orthoptist
(Tengah General and Community Hospital)
Job Responsibilities:
. Contribute to planning of Orthoptics services for Tengah General and Community Hospital, including space, design, workflow and manpower considerations.
. Collaborate with clinical, allied health, operational and administrative stakeholders in planning of orthoptics services.
. Assess and manage patients referred for orthoptics assessment independently, implement appropriate treatment plans by applying specialised orthoptics knowledge and skills.
. Coordinate patient care with physicians, allied health professionals and relevant stakeholders. Collaborate in case conferences and appropriate interdisciplinary referral where required.
. Mentor and conduct training session (competency) for junior orthoptist.
. Document clinical assessment and treatment in electronic medical records accurately.
. Network strategically with healthcare practitioners in NUHS.
. Comply with clinical and service standards.
. Assist with administrative duties as tasked
Job Requirements:
. Bachelor of Orthoptics or equivalent Or Master of Orthoptics
. Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience
. Communicate and interrelate effectively in diverse contexts
. Ability to recognise, assess, diagnose and treat a wide range of eye conditions.
. Adaptability and ability to multi-task and manage time well
. Effective problem solving, planning and organising skills including awareness of resource management.
