Senior Operator (Iron Ore/Bulk) - Commodities Trading House

Description

One of the world's largest independent commodities trading houses, leveraging a global network of commodity players along with access to international trading talent and market intelligence. Due to business expansion, they are seeking a Senior Operator for their bulk and metals division.

Role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the role is responsible for daily operations, managing cargo shipments, inventory, and compliance across truck, rail, and maritime logistics, while coordinating with ports, agents, and inspectors. The Operator will support traders by monitoring product movements, resolving operational issues, reviewing trade documentation, and ensuring accurate contract execution. Maintaining up-to-date records of storage positions and inventory is essential for efficient planning, cost tracking, and smooth contract fulfillment.

Requirements

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree in supply chain or a related field, with 5-10 years of experience in base metal operations. Experience in bulk operations is a plus. Success in this role requires the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced trading environment.
