RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Nurse Manager, Home Nursing ensures quality care by developing, and aligning with Nursing Office, nursing philosophies and standards, enforcing adherence to regulations (Singapore Nursing Board, code of nursing practices, and other agencies), and measuring health outcomes. He/She provides clinical governance, supporting Senior Management to achieve clinical excellence, establish policy, and develop programs. He/She leads a team of community nurses and doctors (Home Medical) to achieve business performance in quality care, clinical standards, care coordination, and operational effectiveness, including nursing care delivery, resource allocation, staff development, and overall Nursing division performance, including the profitability of Home Nursing Service Line.
You will need to:
Primary Responsibilities and Duties (80%):
- Be responsible for planning, coordinating, directing and evaluating nursing activities and resource utilization.
- Ensure that quality and standards of the HC meet the requirements of MOH guideline, service requirement and policy and procedure.
- Lead, facilitate and promote clinical safety and risk management practices among the nursing and care staff in collaboration with related departments.
- Work with key stakeholders to develop emerging roles and new skills.
- Direct and active participation in service planning, implementation and evaluation in overall resource management of the department, including continuous quality audit and performance measures specific to the clinical area.
- Ensure the application of best practice including the generation of action plans to continuously improve the provision of services
- Collaborate with top management, interdisciplinary teams and external stakeholders to develop, implement and evaluate programs and services.
- Create a culture of accountability, openness to change, respect for the individual and teamwork that supports the ethos of the organisation.
- Provide nursing leadership, mentor, coach and advocate Nurse Manager, Nurse Clinician and Nurse Educator to achieve the desired leadership and role model.
- Apply evidence-based healthcare practices, nursing standards guidelines and update / review SOP
- Maintain nursing staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training nurses and care staff
- Review annual assessments to ensure fair and objective appraisals for staff remuneration and benefits
- Develop strategic plan in consultancy with HOD, to improve clinical service delivery and to achieve business KPIs.
- Implement and maintain training programmes for the team in respect of clinical knowledge and competence in consultation with the leaders.
- Ensure nurses competency check is completed according to Home Care service requirements.
- Provide oversight and ensure Home Personal Care service fulfills the standards of the Homes Care service requirements.
- Plan and implement strategic initiatives to improve clinical governance and quality, client care and safety for the homecare.
Secondary Responsibilities and duties (20%):
- Participate in education & training and development of staff.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops reviewing professional publications establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies.
- Participate in clinical service projects
Additional Responsibilities
- Demonstrate accountability for one's development and status as a professional Registered Nurse and as a management leader.
- Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned by HOD
QUALIFICATIONSYou should:
- Be a Registered Nurse with Singapore Nursing Board
- Possess a Degree or Diploma in Nursing
- Have a minimum of 5 years of Nursing Management qualification or other health services management experience, with at least 3 years of people management experience
- At least 5 years of experience in community care setting
- Have Leadership Certification
- Possess good decision-making ability, and a capacity for analytical thinking and problem-solving
- Be able to communicate effectively and good interpersonal skills
- Demonstrate a strong awareness of the need for confidentiality, discretion, precision, and a methodical approach in all matters
- Possess the ability to maintain motivation to get things done with attention to details
- Display leadership and a strong sense of integrity
- Be able to work independently, self-motivated with strong ability to multi-task and a team player
It would be great if you:
- Possess a(n) Advanced / Specialist Diploma in Geriatric
- Home Nursing working experience
