The Role We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer/Senior Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain our diverse core and access network infrastructure across multiple vendors.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end connectivity, from advanced routing protocols (BGP/MPLS) to the physical optical layer (DWDM/GPON).
- Ensure high availability and performance through protocol optimization and hardware tuning.
- Contribute to the scalability and resilience of our network architecture.
- Configure and troubleshoot routing and switching across a multi-vendor environment.
- Design and optimise complex architectures using BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, and MPLS.
- Manage firewalls and deploy enterprise wireless solutions.
- Maintain the optical layer using DWDM/OTN and GPON/FTTH technologies.
- Tune monitoring tools to track bandwidth trends and performance.
- Create and maintain Network Diagrams and detailed technical SOPs.
- Act as the Tier-2/3 escalation point for troubleshooting, performing deep packet analysis and root cause investigation.
- Lead infrastructure projects from design to handover and manage carrier/vendor relationships (RMA, circuit delivery).
- Implementation of turn-key projects
Requirements:
- Minimum Diploma in Telecommunications, Engineering, or IT with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in Network Engineering role, specifically within an ISP or Service Provider environment is preferred.
- Proven experience with BGP, MPLS, and VRRP.
- Hands-on experience with Fibre Optics (splicing standards, dB loss, and light levels) is essential.
- Strong working knowledge of Juniper and Cisco is required.
- Experience with Fortinet, MikroTik, FiberHome, Packetlight, Ubiquity, Huawei is preferred.
- Proficient in using protocol analysers and network graphing tools.
