We're working with a leading proprietary trading firm seeking a Senior Network Engineer / IT Lead to take ownership of its global low-latency network infrastructure.
This is a rare opportunity to lead the network function for a highly technical trading environment where you'll own everything from exchange connectivity and colocation infrastructure through to automation, monitoring and strategic network design.
What you'll be doing
- Own and evolve a global network spanning multiple colocation sites and offices.
- Design, build and optimize low-latency network infrastructure for mission-critical trading systems.
- Manage Arista switching, optical/L1 infrastructure, packet capture systems and high-performance NIC technologies.
- Build best-in-class monitoring, observability and alerting across the network estate.
- Drive automation of network configuration, deployments and operational processes.
- Lead new exchange connectivity projects from planning through certification.
- Oversee office IT infrastructure while acting as the technical owner for the wider network environment.
- Work closely with senior leadership on infrastructure strategy, capacity planning and future growth.
What we're looking for
- 8+ years experience in network engineering within complex multi-site environments.
- Deep knowledge of routing and switching (BGP, OSPF, VLANs, QoS, STP).
- Strong experience with Arista networking.
- Background in colocation infrastructure, cross-connects and data centre operations.
- Experience building monitoring, observability and network automation.
- Linux administration skills with Python and/or Bash scripting.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to take ownership of critical infrastructure.
Nice to have
- Experience in high-frequency trading, electronic trading or other latency-sensitive environments.
- Exchange connectivity or direct market access experience.
- CCNP, CCIE or equivalent certifications.
- Previous leadership or mentoring experience.
