Essex Bio-Technology (EssexBio) is a bio-pharmaceutical company. Our portfolio of products aims to deliver solutions to commercial and clinical unmet needs, covering a wide range of therapeutic areas, which include ophthalmology, dermatology and wound healing. With a growing international presence across the U.S., Europe, and Asia, EssexBio offers employees the opportunity to participate in cross-border projects.
EssexBio is listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange with operating headquarters in Singapore and Zhuhai, serving Asia-Pacific and China respectively. In Singapore, EssexBio through its subsidiaries is focused on translational research, healthcare services and market access for biopharmaceutical products.
This job posting is for a role at our operating headquarters in Singapore (through one of our subsidiaries), offering the chance to contribute to EssexBio's regional and global operations, strengthening our overall regional impact and innovation in healthcare.
We are seeking a high potential, driven, and experienced Senior Medical Sales Representative to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who excels locally while gaining exposure to regional business activities and therapeutic areas, with the potential to grow into a future sales leader as we expand.
What You'll Own
- Build and deepen relationships with key ophthalmology, dermatology and gynaecology specialists, becoming a genuine clinical partner rather than a product pusher.
- Run the full commercial cycle for our specialty biologics — from evidence-based clinical detailing to closing and account growth — using CRM data to prioritise where your time creates the most value.
- Take a lead role in in-market product launches, shaping how a new therapy is introduced to Singapore's institutional and private ophthalmology landscape.
- Represent EssexBio at conferences, CME events and KOL engagements, and feed market and competitor intelligence back into commercial strategy — your insights genuinely shape our next move.
- Partner cross-functionally with regional teams on launches and projects, building the track record and exposure that leads toward a regional leadership role.
- Mentor and, over time, help build out the team as we scale — this role is designed to grow into people leadership, not stay static.
What You Bring
- 3–5 years of sales or marketing experience in pharmaceuticals or medical devices, with a track record of consistently hitting or beating targets.
- Experience selling into ophthalmology, dermatology and/or gynaecology — you already speak the clinical language these specialists expect.
- A Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Life/Biological Sciences, Medical Technology or a related field.
- Comfort with CRM and sales-intelligence tools as a working discipline, not an afterthought — you use data to decide where to spend your day.
- Direct experience carrying a product through launch — you know what the first 12 months of a new therapy in-market actually demands.
- An agile, start-up mindset – comfortable with ambiguity, moves fast, and thinks beyond the standard call plan.
- A genuine ambition to grow into regional sales leadership, and the patience to build toward it rather than chase the next lateral move.
Nice to Have
- An existing network among Singapore's ophthalmology KOLs, institutions (e.g. SNEC, SingHealth) or private specialist clinics.
- Prior exposure to biologics, specialty/orphan therapeutics, or Special Access Route (SAR) commercialisation.
- Regional (SEA) market exposure, or a second regional language relevant to the territory.
What We Offer
- Compensation: Base salary plus a performance-linked sales incentive scheme, reviewed as the portfolio scales, and transport allowance.
- Product & platform: Specialty biologics portfolio backed by parent-company R&D – early-stage launch experience, not a mature brand.
- Career runway: Clear path toward regional sales leadership, with mentorship from senior management as the team grows.
- Culture: Field-based autonomy with structure that supports you.
