Job Description

Joining Razer will place you on a global mission to revolutionize the way the world games. Razer is a place to do great work, offering you the opportunity to make an impact globally while working across a global team located across 5 continents. Razer is also a great place to work, providing you the unique, gamer-centric #LifeAtRazer experience that will put you in an accelerated growth, both personally and professionally.

Job Responsibilities :

In this role, you will be at the forefront of gaming innovation, translating high-level concepts into market-ready hardware. You will own the mechanical design process from the napkin sketch phase through prototyping, testing, and mass production.

The ideal candidate possesses a mix of creative problem-solving and rigorous engineering discipline, ensuring our products are not only aesthetically striking but also durable and highly functional.
  • Detailed Mechanical Design: Work with contract manufacturers to create high-fidelity 3D models and 2D technical drawings for complex gaming device electronics, focusing on tight tolerances and seamless assembly.

  • Prototyping & Iteration: Develop and refine functional prototypes using 3D printing (SLA/FDM), CNC machining, and soft-tooling to validate ergonomic and mechanical performance.

  • Advanced Enclosure Design: Work with contract manufacturer to create and design ultra-compact housings for TWS earbuds, charging cases, and headsets, ensuring efficient internal space utilization for PCBAs and batteries.

  • Interface Engineering: Develop robust pogo-pin docking solutions, magnetic latching mechanisms, and precise trigger actuators for peripheral-to-case interfaces.

  • Acoustic & Signal Optimization: Partner with Acoustic Engineers to design and optimize acoustic apertures and internal signal paths to ensure peak audio performance and microphone clarity.

  • Cross-Functional Integration: Partner with Electrical Engineers to manage EMI shielding and antenna placement while collaborating with Industrial Designers to preserve design intent.

  • Evaluate engineering builds: Evaluate prototypes from engineering builds, keen sense of issues, analyze cosmetic and functional failures, and provide solutions to fix issues.

  • Support factory builds: Able to travel overseas to support product verification builds with contract manufacturers.

Pre-Requisites :

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • 4+ years of experience in the design of consumer electronics or gaming peripherals.

  • Experience in the audio design such as True Wireless Stereo (TWS) systems or high-performance desktop audio.

  • Knowledge of structural and acoustic design such as microphone array positioning and beamforming-friendly mechanical structures.

  • A portfolio demonstrating successful product launches from initial concept to retail shelves.

  • CAD Proficiency: Expert knowledge of SolidWorks, Creo, or NX, with a mastery of complex surface modeling and top-down assembly management.

  • Manufacturing Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of injection molding (including double-shot and LSR), die-casting, and metal stamping processes.

  • Structural Analysis: Ability to perform FEA (Finite Element Analysis) for stress, strain, and drop-test simulations to ensure long-term product reliability.

  • DFX Mastery: Strong experience in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) to maximize production yields and minimize failure rates.

  • Testing & Validation: Familiarity with IP-rating (ingress protection) design requirements and environmental stress testing (HALT/HASS).
