Senior Mechanical Engineer (Jacket Gripper Systems)

Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to support the design, engineering, procurement and fabrication of jacket gripper systems for offshore projects.
The successful candidate will provide technical oversight throughout the manufacturing process, working closely with engineering teams, suppliers and fabrication yards to ensure equipment is delivered safely, on schedule and in accordance with project requirements.
Candidates with previous experience in IQIP jacket gripper systems or similar offshore foundation equipment will be highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the engineering and design of jacket gripper systems.
- Review and approve engineering drawings, calculations and technical documentation.
- Coordinate procurement activities for mechanical components and fabricated assemblies.
- Manage fabrication activities and provide technical support to manufacturing teams.
- Liaise with suppliers, fabrication yards and project stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards and delivery schedules.
- Participate in inspections, FATs and quality reviews where required.
- Support equipment mobilisation and offshore project execution.
- Promote compliance with HSE and QA/QC standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in mechanical engineering, offshore equipment manufacturing or heavy fabrication.
- Strong understanding of steel fabrication, welding, machining and manufacturing processes.
- Experience managing fabrication and procurement for engineered mechanical equipment.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation.
- Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience with IQIP jacket gripper systems.
- Experience with offshore wind foundation equipment, pile installation equipment or heavy lifting systems.
- Experience working with fabrication yards or manufacturing facilities.
- Previous experience supporting offshore wind, oil and gas or marine construction projects.
- Experience working in South Korea or with Korean fabrication contractors would be advantageous.
