Senior Mechanical Engineer

Overview

Design, develop, and validate mechanical and electro-mechanical products from concept through mass production. Lead mechanical design activities, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure products meet performance, quality, cost, and schedule objectives.

Reporting To: Engineering Manager, Mechanical Engineering

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical systems, assemblies, and hardware architectures.
• Generate concepts, detailed designs, and engineering solutions for new product development.
• Conduct engineering analysis, risk assessments, and design verification activities.
• Develop and execute test plans, prototypes, and validation methodologies.
• Ensure designs meet quality, reliability, manufacturability, cost, and schedule requirements.
• Translate customer and market requirements into practical product solutions.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing on injection moulding, machining, sheet metal fabrication, gear systems, and assembly processes.
• Support product improvements, manufacturing issue resolution, value engineering, and production ramp-up activities.
• Manage project timelines and deliverables for assigned developments.
• Work closely with Electrical, Firmware, Software, Marketing, and Operations teams throughout the product lifecycle.
• Apply advanced mechanical engineering principles to solve complex technical challenges.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers when required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical product design and development.
• Proven experience managing products from concept through mass production.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and engineering practices.
• Experience designing mechanisms such as gear trains, clutches, cams, and linkages.
• Familiarity with motors, power transmission systems, sensors, and electro-mechanical products.
• Hands-on experience with plastic, sheet metal, die-cast, machined, and rubber components.
• Proficient in SolidWorks and/or FEA tools.
• Strong understanding of GD&T.
• Exposure to DOE, Six Sigma, DFMEA, DFM, DFA, and Pugh Matrix methodologies is advantageous.
