Marine safety, quality and efficient operation
. Ensure vessel operations comply with international regulations
. Monitor navigational safety, and mooring practice
. Oversee safe cargo operations, including tank cleaning
. Conduct ship visits, inspections, and dry dock attendance.
. Monitor vessel performance, vetting inspections, and port state control results, ensuring timely resolution of deficiencies
. Conduct risk assessments for new ports/terminals and audit ship managers for compliance
. Oversee incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions
. Perform vessel screening and due diligence for new or extended charters
. Plan and oversee drills, safety campaigns, and shipboard training
. Coordinate with the Head of Department and stakeholders during fleet emergencies.
. Provide training and guidance on marine safety procedures
. Support safety campaigns, incident investigations, and improvement initiatives
. Drive initiatives to improve safety culture and operational efficiency
. Contribute to projects such as digitalization, emission reduction, and innovation.
. Summarize KPI and HSEQ analysis
. Coordinate with key stakeholders on upholding the company's safety standards and policies.
Requirements
. Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Marine Engineering, Safety Management, or related field
. Master Mariner with command experience on chemical tankers with preferably over 2 years seafaring experience.
. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in marine safety or operations in the tanker shipping industry
. Strong knowledge of international maritime regulations, chemical cargo operations, and tanker industry standards.
. Experience in HSSEQ, Marine assurance, Ship inspections, Vetting (SIRE/CDI), Audits, and Incident investigations
. Working knowledge of Tanker Management & Self Assessment (TMSA).
. Shore-based experience in Marine, HSSEQ, or Marine Safety & Operations roles.
. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
. Effective communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
