Job Summary
The Senior Manager for Communications and Media leads the development and execution of the Institute's communication strategy, manages media relations, and ensures consistent brand messaging to enhance reputation, engage stakeholders, and increase visibility.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement communication plans that align with the Institute's strategic goals to drive engagement and visibility
- Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, editors, and media outlets to secure positive media coverage
- Oversee the creation and review of press releases, speeches, articles, and digital content to ensure clarity and impact
- Lead communication efforts during crises or sensitive situations to protect and uphold the Institute's reputation
- Ensure consistent brand messaging across all internal and external communication channels to reinforce organizational identity
- Guide, mentor, and coordinate communication teams, agencies, and partners to deliver cohesive messaging and projects
- Monitor communication effectiveness through analytics and reporting, providing actionable insights for continuous improvement
Required competencies and certifications
Experienced in producing digital newsletters and editorials.
Education
- Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
- 10+ years experience in communications, media relations, or corporate affairs.
