Job Summary
The Senior Manager (Projects & Operations) provides strategic and operational leadership across the company's project, lifting and logistics portfolio. The role holds overall responsibility for project performance, commercial outcomes, resource strategy, operational risk and key client relationships, while leading teams to deliver projects safely, efficiently and profitably.
Responsibilities
- Lead multiple projects and operations by setting strategic direction and ensuring alignment with business goals
- Develop and implement project execution, resource allocation, and operational strategies to optimize performance
- Direct managers, project teams, supervisors, and subcontractors to meet safety, quality, schedule, and commercial objectives
- Make management-level decisions on manpower, crane deployment, equipment, and logistics resources across projects
- Oversee project budgets, monitor cost performance, manage variations, procurement, and ensure operational profitability
- Review and approve major project plans, lifting strategies, technical proposals, and resource requirements
- Manage relationships with key clients, contractors, consultants, Professional Engineers, suppliers, and business partners
- Assess major operational, contractual, and commercial risks and implement effective mitigation strategies
- Ensure compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH), regulatory, contractual, and corporate governance standards
- Drive operational improvements through productivity enhancement, cost optimization, and efficient resource utilization
- Support tender evaluation, project feasibility studies, commercial planning, and lead major project negotiations
- Provide senior management with accurate project forecasts, performance analyses, risk assessments, and strategic recommendations
- Develop team capabilities, management processes, and operational standards to sustain business growth
Required competencies and certifications
- Bachelor's Degree or higher, or relevant professional qualification in Engineering, Project Management, Logistics, Business Management, or related discipline
- Minimum 5 years of management experience in projects, lifting operations, heavy logistics, engineering, or related industries
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, operational teams, and significant project resources effectively
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in budgeting, cost control, procurement, and contract/variation management
- In-depth knowledge of lifting operations, crane deployment, project logistics, and project execution
- Good understanding of Singapore Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) and relevant regulatory requirements
- Ability to prepare, evaluate, and review technical drawings, lifting plans, and project documentation
- Proficiency in spoken and written English and Chinese for effective communication with stakeholders and preparation of project documentation
- Strong leadership, strategic planning, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Demonstrated capacity to make independent management-level decisions and resolve complex operational and commercial issues
