Senior Manager, Risk

Job Purpose Summary:

The incumbent will be responsible for supporting the implementation of the branch's risk management framework through the independent and objective identification, assessment, measurement, monitoring, reporting, and control of risk. The role will oversee operational risk processes across all risk event categories, ensuring compliance with operational risk policies and procedures to minimize losses. The incumbent will also be responsible for information security, ensuring branch information is protected from internal and external threats and managed in accordance with statutory and regulatory requirements relating to information access, security, and privacy.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist in the implementation of Operational Risk Management Framework (ORMF) that covers the Country's level of operational risk appetite and tolerance, including the extent of which, and manner in which, operational risk is transferred outside the Country.
• Work with Compliance to provide management with updates on regulatory changes pertaining to operational risk.
• Create Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) and Key Risk Indicators (KRI's) for performance monitoring and quality measurement purposes for the IT Security personnel and monitor local key risks and ensure immediate escalation to HO.
• Serve as Incident Management Lead on critical incidents and oversee incident response planning and security breach investigations
• Utilize tools, for identification and assessment of operational risk such as Self Risk Assessment, Risk Mapping, Risk Indicators, construction/ maintenance of an Operational Loss Database etc. to facilitate consistency in monitoring and reporting of operational risks across the Country.
• Support the management to enable the Country to meet the requirements of operational risk management as specified by the Country Central Bank.
• Maintain an understanding of all pertinent regulations as well as best practices pertaining to operational risk and Information Security.
• Understand and effectively perform your role under the Three Lines of Defence principle to identify, measure, monitor, manage and report risks and ensure systematic good outcomes for clients in accordance with Conduct Risk policy.
• Support the framework of RCSA, KRI, Incident reporting and remediation, as appropriate, in accordance with the Operational Risk Management requirements.
• All other ad hoc duties and/or activities related to QNB that management may request of the employee from time to time.

Education / Experience requirements:

• Bachelor's degree preferably in business, finance, economics or related subjects.
• Minimum of 8 years experience in the operational risk function of a major bank.
• Understanding of operational risks across the full product/ process range found in banks/ FSI
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Maintain an understanding of all pertinent regulations as well as best practices pertaining to information security including but not limited to relevant ISACA guidelines, CoBIT principles etc.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented team player with the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships, coach staff, and deliver results under pressure.
