The Senior Manager, Risk Management is responsible for designing, maintaining and operating the enterprise risk management framework, with a primary focus on operational and business risks across projects, joint ventures, managed assets and corporate operations. This is a hands-on individual contributor role that partners closely with business and corporate teams to proactively identify, assess, monitor and mitigate risks, and to provide clear, practical risk insights to senior management, while supporting commercial objectives.
Job Description
Enterprise & Operational Risk Management
- Own and manage the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework, including risk identification, assessment, mitigation and monitoring processes.
- Lead regular enterprise and operational risk assessments across corporate functions, projects and portfolio activities.
- Maintain and update the risk register, including key operational, financial, contractual and reputational risks.
Business & Project Risk Support
- Partner with business, finance and functional teams to identify and assess operational and business risks arising from new initiatives, projects and ongoing operations.
- Support risk review of proposals, contracts and commercial structures, focusing on scope, deliverables, dependencies, liabilities and risk allocation.
- Advise business teams on risk mitigation strategies that are practical, proportionate and aligned with commercial realities.
Monitoring, Reporting & Governance
- Monitor emerging risks, changes in risk profiles and control effectiveness across the organization.
- Deliver risk dashboards and reports to the board, audit committee, and senior management, highlighting key risks, trends and mitigation status.
- Support risk-related inputs for management discussions, audits and governance reviews, as required.
Continuous Improvement
- Promote a strong risk awareness culture, providing guidance and support to business units on risk ownership and controls.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen processes, controls and risk practices in line with business growth and complexity.
Job Requirements
- Degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management or a related discipline.
- 6 - 8 years of experience in risk management, operational risk, enterprise risk or a related role.
- Strong understanding of operational and business risks, preferably in asset-light environments.
- Experience supporting consultancy or project-based businesses would be an added advantage.
- Practical experience with risk frameworks, risk registers and risk reporting.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate risk issues into practical, business-focused recommendations. Possess the ability to balance risk discipline with commercial pragmatism.
- Comfortable working independently, engaging senior stakeholders and operating with a high degree of accountability.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
