Job Description

This is a senior compliance officer role with leadership responsibilities, reporting to the Head of Regulatory Compliance and Engagement. This role is expected to take hands-on approach working in close collaboration within the Compliance team and with all relevant stakeholders to provide compliance advisory with a focus on Insurance Act and its subsidiary legislation, including all relevant Notices, Circulars, Guidelines and regulatory expectations. This role is also expected to engage with the regulators.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead, oversee and guide a team of compliance officers to ensure regulatory compliance with the Insurance Act and its subsidiary legislation, as well as all applicable regulatory requirements and expectations.

  • Ensure that all regulatory inquiries and matters are tracked and well addressed in a timely manner.

  • Develop and sustain a regulatory change management program, c ompliance policies and procedures for the company.

  • Ensure adherence to global or regional regulatory compliance related matters

  • Advise stakeholders and address compliance issues through a hands-on approach and in close collaboration within the Compliance team and with all relevant stakeholders.

  • Support the Compliance function overall on business initiatives, projects or any other task as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 15 years of compliance experience in an international FI, with a strong track record and subject matter expertise in insurance, hands-on experience leading teams and engaging regulators

  • A strategic, forward-thinking, dynamic, energetic, self-motivating and engaging leader with strong communication skills (written and verbal)

  • A compliance officer who thrives on challenges, is passionate about compliance and interested in making a positive difference.
