Senior Manager, Public Affairs and Communications

Telenor Asia is looking for a new colleague in the position of Senior Manager, Public Affairs and Communications to ensure strategic communication for Telenor Asia aligned to our ownership priority of unlocking full value potential of our assets in the region, in a responsible manner.

This role sits within the Corporate Affairs team in Telenor Asia's regional headquarter in Singapore and will report to Vice President - Public and Regulatory Affairs.

The role is based out of Singapore on local contract terms and conditions.

As Senior Manager, Public Affairs and Communications, you will have the following responsibility:

• Lead internal communications for Telenor Asia employees, including shared responsibility for Singapore office communications.

• Maintain internal comms channel of inTel in close alignment with Telenor Group communications, branding and strategy teams.

• Ensure strategic communication on issues management and crisis comms.

• Support Head of Asia with leadership comms and external positioning, where needed.

• Support policy communications, regional public advocacy and thought leadership initiatives on key regulatory and policy topics. This includes strategic messaging on priority issues affecting the telecommunications and digital ecosystem.

• Advise Telenor Asia management on reputational risks and opportunities.

We are looking for someone with strong communication skills and ability totranslate complex policy, regulatory, and technology issues into clear strategic narratives in a fast-paced work environment. Being part of a small, cross-functional team, person will be required to deal with both operational and strategic issues as well as manage projects across different markets. Flexibility and agility are key qualities.

• At least 8 years of relevant experience, preferably in a regional role at the intersection of technology and connectivity.

• Strong communication skills (English), both written and spoken.

• Good understanding of how media (traditional and digital) and policy ecosystems operate in Asian markets, ideally in Telenor's markets in Asia (Bangladesh and Malaysia).

• Familiarity with crafting strategic messaging in the telecommunications, platform ecosystems or digital sector is an advantage.

• Project Management skills.

• Team player with coordination skills and the ability to work with multiple stakeholders.
