Position Overview

A Senior Project Manager is required to support the Project Director to drive planning, governance, risk management, and manage execution, cross-team integration, and stakeholder relationships to ensure successful delivery. The role requires managing multiple teams and third-party vendors to deliver high-quality outcomes within scope, schedule and budget.

  • He/She works closely with the solution vendor, the user organisation, technical agencies, and internal teams to ensure alignment across all workstreams.
  • He/She develops and maintains a trusted and strong relationship with key stakeholders and work collaboratively with all parties.
  • The role requires managing multiple teams and third-party vendors to deliver high-quality outcomes within scope, schedule and budget.
  • The position requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, communication and stakeholder management skills, and the ability to manage complex interdependencies across multiple functional, technical and organisational stakeholders.

Role & Responsibilities


Project Planning & Governance

  • Support the Project Director in overall program planning and governance setup.
  • Lead project planning across scope, schedule, budget, dependencies, risks and resource needs.
  • Establish project governance structures, define decision-making processes, and coordinate across multiple workstreams.
  • Review and endorse key project deliverables, procurement activities, solution designs, integrated plans, and cost assessments.
  • Ensure the project adopts appropriate methodologies, standards, templates and tools aligned to organisational quality and compliance frameworks.
  • Define expectations for reporting, milestone reviews, risk/issue management, including clear escalation pathways.

Stakeholder & Cross-Team Collaboration


  • Work closely with the solution vendor and multi-functional teams on design, build, testing, deployment and cutover activities.
  • Partner with user stakeholders to clarify requirements, validate workflows, align expectations and ensure business readiness.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (programme management, architects, security, infrastructure, data, testing, deployment, change management, etc.) to ensure end-to-end solution cohesion.
  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and facilitate alignment on key decisions, trade-offs and priorities.

Requirements, Design & Solution Alignment


  • Lead or oversee requirements clarification, design evaluation, and assessment of solution options.
  • Ensure requirements and designs are traceable, feasible and aligned with future-state operating and technical models.
  • Identify design gaps, risks, interdependencies and constraints across functional and technical workstreams.
  • Provide guidance on feasibility assessments, risk mitigation strategies and change impacts.

Project Implementation & Execution


  • Drive project execution, ensuring milestones, deliverables, and quality objectives are met.
  • Proactively identify schedule risks, scope variations, and resource constraints; recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Manage escalations, coordinate issue resolution across internal and external teams, and make sound trade-offs.
  • Ensure clear communication and alignment across project teams, vendors, stakeholders and leadership.

Post-Go-Live Stabilisation & Future Operations


  • Support go-live readiness, intensive go-live period support, and transition activities post go-live.
  • Coordinate defect resolution, operational readiness and knowledge transfer to support teams.
  • Participate in planning for long-term maintenance and support (as future operating model are refined).
  • Contribute to governance structures that support ongoing system monitoring, enhancements and sustainment activities.

Requirements


  • 8–10+ years of experience managing large-scale, complex IT projects, preferably involving enterprise-wide or mission-critical systems
  • Healthcare experience advantageous but not mandatory
  • Strong programme and project management skills with proven experience in multi-workstream environments
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams, including vendors, technical specialists and business stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with confidence in managing ambiguity and making sound decisions
  • Experience with project management methodologies and the full systems development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple concurrent activities
  • Bachelor's degree in an IT-related discipline or equivalent experience; relevant certifications may be considered
