We are seeking a visionary and hands-on Head of Technology Engineering to lead the end-to-end development and delivery of digital application capabilities for UOB Asset Management across Asia. This role focuses on building scalable, secure, and high-performance technology solutions while leveraging emerging technologies such as AI, ML, and big data to enhance investment decision-making and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Technology Leadership & Strategy
- Develop technology initiatives aligned with UOBAM's strategic objectives, in partnership with the Group CIO.
- Lead the design, architecture, and development of UOBAM digital platforms ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
- Drive modernization of legacy systems and transition to cloud-native architectures where appropriate.
- Identify and implement high-leverage AI use cases, including Generative AI and AI Agents, aligned with business goals.
Business & Stakeholder Alignment
- Collaborate with regional and local investment, compliance, and operations teams to translate business requirements into engineering solutions.
- Ensure technology solutions are compliant with local and regional regulatory requirements across APAC offices.
- Work with regional stakeholders and manage local technology vendors to support project delivery and system localization.
System Performance & Innovation
- Continuously assess and improve system performance, user experience, and operational workflows.
- Integrate emerging technologies to enhance investment decision-making and operational efficiency.
- Lead the development of AI-centric platforms, multi-language development projects, and end-to-end engineering solutions.
Regulatory Compliance & Market Expertise
- Ensure all platforms and applications comply with financial regulations.
- Deliver scalable trading and investment platforms supporting multi-asset strategies and real-time market data integration.
- Maintain knowledge of global market infrastructure, regulations, fintech ecosystems, and competitive landscape.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master's preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in end-to-end financial software development.
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing engineering teams in investment banking, asset management, or capital markets.
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages (Java, Python, Go, JavaScript, C#) and cloud platforms.
- Proven track record delivering AI-centric and multi-jurisdictional platforms.
- Expertise in investment systems, asset management data models, low-latency trading platforms, and scalable digital architectures.
- Experience collaborating with regional stakeholders and managing technology vendors.
