Join DayOne – Shaping the Future of Data Infrastructure

DayOne is a global leader in the development and operation of high-performance data centers. As one of the fastest-growing companies in the industry, we've built a robust presence across Asia and Europe — and we're just getting started.

As we expand into new international markets, we're looking for talented, driven individuals to join us on this exciting journey. This is more than a job — it's an opportunity to be a key contributor to our dynamic team and help shape the future of global data infrastructure.

If you're passionate about innovation, technology, and growth, we invite you to be part of DayOne's next chapter.

This is a senior technical leadership role suited to an engineering professional who thrives in complex, fast-paced environments and enjoys driving consistency, technical quality, and fit-for-purpose engineering decisions across large-scale infrastructure programs.

You will lead a distributed team of OEM and product engineering specialists focused on improving engineering standardisation, supporting technical evaluations, strengthening OEM engagement, and ensuring engineered systems are operationally reliable, scalable, and commercially effective.

You will work closely with Technology, Design, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning, and Operations teams, as well as external OEM and vendor partners, to support high-quality engineering outcomes across DayOne's expanding global portfolio

What You'll Do

OEM Engineering & Product Evaluation

  • Lead technical evaluations of OEM equipment and engineered systems across critical infrastructure projects
  • Ensure equipment selections align with operational, reliability, scalability, and lifecycle requirements
  • Support fit-for-purpose engineering decisions and help reduce unnecessary complexity or over-specification
  • Review technical submissions including datasheets, drawings, configurations, and testing documentation
  • Support technical issue resolution and engineering deviation reviews where required

Engineering Standards & Standardisation

  • Support the development and maintenance of engineering standards, technical specifications, and OEM configuration baselines
  • Drive consistency and repeatability across projects and regions
  • Work with engineering and operations teams to improve product standardisation and engineering quality
  • Help translate operational requirements into clear vendor-ready technical specifications

OEM & Vendor Management

  • Build strong working relationships with OEMs, manufacturers, and technical vendors
  • Support vendor technical evaluations, bid reviews, and product assessments
  • Partner with Procurement and Engineering teams during equipment selection and technical review processes
  • Promote strong technical governance, documentation quality, and vendor accountability

Testing, Quality & Commissioning Support

  • Support FAT/SAT planning and equipment validation activities
  • Partner with commissioning and operations teams to help resolve technical issues and improve reliability outcomes
  • Capture lessons learned and support continuous improvement initiatives across standards and product configurations

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and develop a distributed team of OEM and product engineering specialists
  • Establish effective operating rhythms, technical review processes, and team collaboration practices
  • Promote a pragmatic, solutions-oriented, and technically rigorous team culture
  • Support capability development across engineering evaluation and product engineering disciplines

Continuous Improvement & Optimisation

  • Identify opportunities to simplify equipment configurations and improve engineering consistency
  • Support initiatives focused on reliability, maintainability, scalability, and operational efficiency
  • Contribute to cost optimisation efforts through improved standardisation and specification clarity

Systems & Equipment Scope

You will support engineering activities across a range of mission-critical systems, including:

  • High Voltage (HV) systems
  • Medium Voltage (MV) systems
  • Low Voltage (LV) systems
  • UPS and backup power systems
  • Generators and critical power infrastructure
  • Cooling and thermal management systems
  • Controls and monitoring systems
  • Fire detection and life safety systems
  • Mechanical and electrical plant infrastructure

What Success Looks Like

  • Improved consistency in OEM technical evaluations and equipment selection
  • Stronger engineering standardisation across projects and regions
  • Reduced configuration variability and unnecessary complexity
  • Improved collaboration with OEM and vendor partners
  • Increased engineering quality and operational reliability
  • Strong technical support for delivery and operations teams

What We're Looking For

  • 10+ years of experience within OEM engineering, product engineering, mission-critical infrastructure, or related technical environments
  • Experience working within data centres, critical infrastructure, industrial, utilities, or large-scale engineering environments strongly preferred
  • Experience working with OEMs, manufacturers, and technical vendors
  • Strong experience reviewing technical submittals, engineering documentation, specifications, and testing procedures
  • Experience operating within fast-paced, multi-stakeholder project environments
  • Previous experience leading technical or engineering teams preferred

Technical Capability

  • Strong understanding of HV/MV/LV systems and critical infrastructure environments
  • Familiarity with backup power systems, cooling systems, controls, and mechanical/electrical infrastructure
  • Knowledge of engineering standards, product configuration management, and reliability principles
  • Understanding of FAT/SAT processes and commissioning activities

DayOne is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.

If you're ready to grow with one of the fastest-moving companies in the data center industry, apply now and be part of our global journey.
