We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead the MEP Technical Services team for building and development projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems, along with proven leadership and project management expertise. This role is responsible for overseeing the technical delivery of MEP services across multiple projects, ensuring compliance with brand and industry standards while driving sustainability initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical advisory services to ensure adherence to brand standards for new-build, conversion, re-branding, and refurbishment projects from design to opening.
- Prepare engineering service briefs, and review consultants designs for efficiency, suitability, and operational practicality.
- Support due diligence for potential new, conversion, or renovation projects, including conducting pre-opening reviews against brand requirements.
- Conduct site visits and technical inspections to ensure compliance with standards, and prepare Property Improvement Plans (PIPs).
- Periodically review and update design and construction standards, incorporating sustainable and innovative technologies.
- Offer technical guidance to Directors of Engineering (DOEs) on standards, procedures, fire, life safety, and environmental matters.
- Lead sustainability initiatives in decarbonization, energy efficiency, water management, and waste reduction.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, preferably with a focus on design, construction, or technical services.
- Recognised professional qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related discipline).
- 8-12 years of leadership experience in consultancy or technical services prior exposure to hospitality projects is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of design and construction standards, with the ability to ensure compliance with brand and regulatory requirements.
- Familiarity with sustainability and certification programs such as Green Mark, LEED, or EarthCheck.
- Experience in implementing energy and sustainability technologies is highly desirable.
- Proven leadership, project management, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across diverse cultures.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong passion for sustainability, ESG, and process improvement.
- Independent, proactive, and able to perform effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
