Roles and Responsibilities
- Investigate marine accidents and input the record into the system
- Analyze marine accidents and security information and provide findings to fleet
- Establish countermeasures and policies and publish circulars for accident prevention
- Conduct analysis of the accident statistics
- Provide advice to the vessel operation team, chartering and post fixture team on troubles or safety/security
- Support shore staff's training on board vessels
- Manage pre-joining briefing of seafarers
- Research new regulations and technology related to maritime safety and quality
- Manage and coordinate the Crisis Management Centre in case of emergency. Maintain the Prepare Crisis Management Plan and carry out drills for severe maritime incidents
- Participate in ad-hoc projects as required
Requirements
- Mercantile Marine University/College or equivalent
- At least 2 years of experience as a DPA/Deputy DPA/ superintendent/manager (Marine/Manning) in ship management companies or equivalent
- Experience as the Captain on board Container Vessels
- Good communication and coordination skills to work with teams from diverse backgrounds
- Practically experienced in handling emergencies or casualties on the vessels from the shore headquarters/office.
- Experience in studying the data of the incidents and inspecting from the viewpoint of statistics and data science is advantageous
