RESPONSIBILITIES
- This position is for Institute of Innovation & Entrepreneurship (IIE).
- Strategy & Campaign Management
- Support the development and execution of integrated marketing and communications strategies aligned with institutional objectives and distinct talent development programmes, translating priorities into actionable campaign plans with defined timelines, budgets, and KPIs.
- Lead end-to-end campaign management across digital, print, and events channels - from planning and resource allocation through execution, performance monitoring, and post-campaign analysis.
- Own annual marketing planning and budget tracking, ensuring spend is accountable and aligned with strategic priorities.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to surface insights that sharpen messaging, positioning, and outreach effectiveness.
- Track and report on marketing performance metrics, providing data-driven recommendations to optimise future campaigns.
- Events Management
- Plan, lead and execute a range of founder and student events, including large scale global pitch competition events.
- Manage vendors, stakeholder and student volunteers for end-to-end planning and execution.
- Plan and execute social media and digital campaigns to drive applications.
- Digital Marketing & Content
- Drive digital marketing activities across SEO/SEM, social media, email marketing, and web - with a deliberate focus on traffic growth, audience engagement, and student conversion outcomes.
- Implement and optimise digital campaigns end-to-end, from targeting and creative to performance analysis and iteration.
- Oversee social media presence across platforms, maintaining consistency in voice and brand identity.
- Manage website analytics, tracking, and reporting to continuously improve reach and user experience.
- Develop and maintain a content calendar, producing high-quality content across formats - articles, white papers, case studies, videos, and infographics - and repurposing assets across channels to maximise impact.
- Support authorship of thought leadership and storytelling pieces that strengthen SMU IIE's visibility and credibility within the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem.
- Brand & Communications
- Ensure brand consistency across all marketing touchpoints - digital, print, events, and stakeholder communications.
- Monitor market trends and stakeholder sentiment to refine messaging and inform communication strategy.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align marketing efforts with programme and organisational priorities.
- Any other duties assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS- Degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism or related fields with 5 to 8 years of relevant working experience.
- Effective project management and organisational skills-able to plan, track, and deliver multiple workstreams under tight timelines.
- Proficient in digital communication tools and social media platforms.
- Effective communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong interest in the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem, with awareness of key industry trends and ecosystem players.
- Working knowledge of budgeting and financial management principles.
- Internal and external stakeholder management skills, with strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to operate independently with minimal direction, prioritise well, and deliver in high-pressure/high-expectation situations.
- Sound attention to detail with good documentation habits to support audit readiness and compliance.
- Ownership and accountability acts with urgency and follows through on commitments.
- Humility, authenticity, high standards, and outcome driven.
- Team-oriented and collaborative able to work across functions and support student-facing initiatives professionally.
- Network in regional/global innovation & entrepreneurship ecosystem will be an advantage.
- Experience as an educator/mentor to youth is a plus.
- Prior experience working in a startup or tech events company or equivalent will be viewed favorably.
