Job Description

OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Deputy Director (Learning & Outreach), the Senior Manager (Learning & Outreach) will lead public education outreach partnerships and engagements with schools, public and communities. The Senior Manager will oversee the full outreach partnership cycles, ensuring quality in educational content, programme delivery and relationship management to increase public familiarity with the Gallery's identity and mission, with the goal of bringing non-traditional museum going audiences into the Gallery and retain interest for repeat visitors. This role requires strong skillsets in collaboration, overseeing budget, administrative details and project management. The senior manager will also be involved in working with internal and external stakeholders to design and present meaningful art experiences and encounters for audiences of different demographics in and beyond the Gallery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (but not limited to the below):

  • Responsible for leading strategic approaches and planning in alignment with organizational mission and learning vision.
  • Develop proposals, manage budget and partnership planning which includes stakeholders engagement, organising operational details, coordination, registration, and scheduling in collaboration with community and school partners to implement the Gallery's learning and outreach engagement plans, with a vision to create awareness, enhance accessibility, and develop meaningful connections between individuals and communities who may be new to art and the Gallery, its exhibitions and collection.
  • Work closely with and develop relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders including vendors, artists, members of the public, government agencies, and corporates to co-design the programmes around shared and sustainable outcomes.
  • Responsible for procurement of projects, including procuring quotes and approvals, tallying and tracking of PO-related matters for Division's activities and events.
  • Responsible for coordinating and implementing surveys, interviews, evaluation plans to assess the efficacy of the mode of learning and outreach engagement, and monitor/track the on-going evaluation of the programmes and services and implement improvements as necessary.
  • Responsible for coordinating with internal and external partners to ensure all event requests including but not limited to logistics are met with.
  • Attend site recee with event organisers and vendors for feasibility studies and provide advice on suitable setup based on existing resources.
  • Responsible for overseeing setup, conducting pre and post event inspection of venue spaces and providing support for ad-hoc request and emergency response on site.
  • Handle ad-hoc assignments as and when required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 6 years of relevant work experience in education, arts-related portfolio.
  • Must possess cultural sensitivity and understanding for diverse communities.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement educational and outreach programmes that align with the mission and goals of the museum.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects effectively and deliver quality outcomes within tight timelines and budget.
  • Demonstrated skills in managing a range of administrative processes including issuing and managing schedules, contracts, financials, and logistics.
  • Must possess cultural sensitivity and understanding for diverse stakeholders, including needs among the young audience.
  • A proactive team player who is resourceful, people-oriented, meticulous, hands-on and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Possess positive attitude and excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills to a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Good command of written and spoken English is essential.
