Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Manager, import to lead and oversee the company's import operations, ensuring efficient execution of all import activities in alignment with business objectives, project timelines, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate should possess more than 10 years of experience in import management with a strong foundation in Project Cargo and Trading. This role will be responsible for managing end-to-end import operations, vendor coordination, regulatory compliance, sourcing activities, and team leadership to support large-scale business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Import Operations Management

  • Lead and oversee the overall import department operations to ensure smooth and efficient execution of import activities.
  • Plan, implement, and optimize import flow strategies based on vendor requirements and customer demand.
  • Manage and monitor the end-to-end import process, including shipping documentation, customs clearance, logistics coordination, and delivery timelines.
  • Handle and oversee import shipments

Machinery &Equipment Sourcing

  • Organize and coordinate sourcing activities for machinery, equipment, and supporting spare parts required for operational and project needs.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure timely procurement and delivery.
  • Manage sourcing and procurement transactions

Regulatory Compliance& Risk Management

  • Conduct research and maintain up-to-date knowledge of import regulations, customs procedures, tariffs, and trade compliance requirements.
  • Provide guidance and advisory support to various departments on import-related matters.
  • Collaborate with the Finance team to manage inventory controls, import costing, loans, insurance matters, and financial risk considerations.
  • Handle and support import-related regulatory and operational issues

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the import department team to strengthen operational capabilities and performance standards.
  • Manage and oversee a team of subordinates.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, operational efficiency, and capability-building programs within the department.
  • Foster a collaborative, disciplined, and high-performance working environment.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, International Trade, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Import Management, preferably within Project Cargo, Heavy Equipment, Trading, or Manufacturing industries.
  • Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, customs procedures, shipping documentation, and import compliance.
  • Proven experience in managing high-volume import operations and vendor coordination.
  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP/logistics management systems.
