Job Description
Strategic Cost Management & Governance
- Lead the overall cost control strategy, frameworks, and process to ensure effective financial oversight across projects and departments.
- Establish and maintain robust cost control policies, reporting standards, and governance practices aligned with corporate finance objectives
- Partner with senior management, and finance heads to ensure budget discipline, cost transparency, and alignment with business priorities.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Planning
- Oversee the preparation, review, and consolidation of annual budgets, forecasts, and cost plans across multiple process or business units
- Ensure cost forecasts are realistic, data-driven, and supported by accurate cost -to- complete and variance analyses.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to management for cost optimisation and resource allocation.
Reporting & Management insights
- Drive the preparation of monthly and quarterly management cost reports, dashboards, and presentations.
- Communicate key financial metrics and cost performance indicators to senior leadership.
- Provide decision support analysis for strategic initiatives, tender evaluations, and investment proposals.
Leadership & People Management
- Lead, coach, and development a team of cost control professionals, building capability in cost analytics, governance and reporting.
- Promote cross- functional collaboration with Finance, Procurement, Project Control, and Business Control teams.
- Champion a culture of cost discipline, accountability, and continuous improvement across functions.
Systems, Processes & Continuous Improvement
- Drive enhancements to cost control systems, tools, and digital reporting platforms to improve data accuracy and timeliness.
- Implement process improvements to streamline budgeting, forecasting, and variance tracking.
- Support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with corporate policies and financial regulations.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance, with a strong focus
- on financial reporting and compliance.
- Proven experience managing accounts of large and complex entities
- Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and a demonstrated desire to
- probe deeper into data to uncover insights that reveal underlying issues.
- In-depth knowledge of IFRS and other relevant accounting frameworks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams.
- Experience in the offshore, marine or energy industries and accounting knowledge of long-term construction contracts are highly preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Excel; Experience with SAP S4 Hana and Power Query is a plus.
