KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Role Overview:
In this role, you will be a trusted advisor to your assigned function, providing insights to drive cost efficiency, financial discipline and track costs/savings to ensure targets are met and resources optimised. Provide financial data and insights to enable stakeholder to make better cost and investment decisions.
This role is also responsible for financial tracking, control and reporting of Strategic and BAU Projects, ensuring strong governance over capex and opex.
1. Business Partnering & Decision Support:
- Act as a trusted finance partner to your assigned function, providing insights to drive cost efficiency, financial discipline and track costs/savings to ensure targets are met and resources optimised. Provide data to enable stakeholder to make better cost and investment decisions.
- Translate complex financial information into clear, concise messages for non-finance stakeholders.
- Support cost-related business cases, spend approvals, and investment decisions with robust financial analysis.
2. Budgeting, Forecasting and MI:
- Lead end-to-end cost management process, including budgeting, forecasting, monitoring and reporting for your assigned functions.
- Support and coordinate the annual financial planning and budget process providing a consolidated and transparent view of costs.
- Ensure strong governance over OPEX through robust budgeting, forecasting, accruals, variance analysis and cost attribution.
- Investigate and explain variances versus budget and forecast, identifying risks, pressures, and mitigation actions.
3. Project Financial Management
- Provide financial oversight - track project spend-to-date and future committed expenses against approved budgets, providing early warnings on overruns or funding gaps.
- Partner closely with project owners to assess ROI and track cost/savings against targets.
- Provide guidance to project owners e.g. re-purpose of excess budgets and ensure consistent project treatments and governance across all projects.
- Support post-implementation reviews, and ensure correct capturing of projects financial and operational benefits.
EXPERIENCES AND QUALIFICATIONS
- A Degree or Equivalent preferably in Finance/ Accounting.
- Minimum 10 years of work experience preferably in fund management, banking or financial services.
- Analytical background and proven ability in data (particularly financial) analysis, process implementation, and production of MI, including the ability to present data within the context of business activities.
- Financial background and proven ability in financial planning, including being able to contextualize financial data into business activities and conclusions.
- A solid team-player with good interpersonal skills at all levels, an independent-thinker and execution focused with a solid attention to detail and flexible to adapt to changing priorities.
- Demonstrate verbal, presentation and written communication skills.
