We are seeking a Senior Manager to lead the Finance workstream for IFRS 17 across our Mekong business units. This role will oversee both implementation and ongoing reporting, while driving consistency and governance across the region.
Key Responsibilities
IFRS 17 Finance Leadership
- Lead technical accounting design and implementation of IFRS 17
- Define accounting policies and methodologies aligned with IFRS 17 and IFRS 9
- Ensure finance systems and reporting structures meet IFRS 17 requirements
- Act as the key liaison across finance, actuarial, IT, and external stakeholders
Reporting & Financial Oversight
- Oversee IFRS 17 reporting processes, controls, and disclosures
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial statements
- Provide guidance on complex accounting treatments (e.g., CSM, P&L attribution)
- Support regional and group reporting consistency
Operations & Governance
- Establish and oversee IFRS 17 finance operations (including shared services)
- Implement governance frameworks and robust controls
- Drive continuous process improvement and standardisation
Stakeholder Management
- Partner with regional and local business units on accounting matters
- Provide insights linking financial performance and business drivers
- Support senior management with clear communication of technical topics
Regional Initiatives
- Contribute to finance transformation and IFRS-related projects
- Support system upgrades, regulatory changes, and process enhancements
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years of experience in the field of life insurance in Asia Pacific countries
- Professional accounting qualification (CPA, CA, ACCA or equivalent)
- Experience managing a team is preferred
- Prior experience managing offshore or regional teams is an advantage
- Strong hands-on experience in IFRS 17 & IFRS 9 implementation and post-go-live operations
- Deep understanding of end-to-end finance processes, including reporting, controls, and disclosures
- Ability to interpret and resolve complex technical accounting issues
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to connect accounting results to business performance
- Excellent communication skills to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience in regional roles or multi-entity environments is highly preferred
- Experience engaging with external auditors and regulators
- Prior exposure to IFRS 17 disclosures and audit reviews post-implementation
