Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Leadership & Governance

  • Lead and manage engineering teams across projects, providing technical direction and mentorship.

  • Establish and enforce engineering standards, procedures, and best practices.

  • Review and approve engineering designs, methodologies, and technical submissions.

  • Act as the key authority for resolving complex engineering and constructability issues.

Project & Technical Management

  • Oversee engineering planning, coordination, and integration with construction activities.

  • Ensure engineering deliverables are completed on time and aligned with project schedules.

  • Coordinate with consultants, designers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.

  • Identify technical risks early and implement mitigation measures.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure all engineering works comply with regulatory requirements, codes of practice, and contract specifications.

  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure engineering solutions incorporate safety by design.

  • Support audits, inspections, and technical reviews as required.

Cost & Value Engineering

  • Support value engineering initiatives to optimise cost, quality, and buildability.

  • Review engineering changes and assess cost, schedule, and risk implications.

  • Provide technical input during tender evaluations and procurement decisions.

Stakeholder & Client Management

  • Represent the engineering function in client, consultant, and authority meetings.

  • Provide clear technical advice and reports to senior management and project leadership.

  • Support dispute resolution related to engineering or technical matters.

People Development

  • Develop engineering capability through coaching, training, and performance management.

  • Support succession planning and talent development within the engineering team.

  • Foster collaboration across disciplines and project teams.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline).

Experience

Minimum 10 years of relevant engineering experience in the built environment or infrastructure sector.

Proven experience in a senior engineering leadership or management role.

Strong track record delivering complex, large-scale projects.

Proficiency in Japanese is required due to frequent communication with our Japan Headquarters and stakeholders.
