Job Description

The Senior Manager of Donor Engagement leads the planning and delivery of the Society's donor engagement strategies, with a focus on cultivating, stewarding and retaining corporate and philanthropic donors to advance the well-being of children. The role is responsible for translating engagement strategies into effective donor programmes, strong relationships and sustainable funding outcomes. The role works closely with internal stakeholders to ensure donor engagement efforts are aligned with organisational priorities, service needs and safeguarding requirements, while delivering high-quality and innovative donor experiences that strengthen trust, impact and long-term commitment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Donor Engagement Strategy and Delivery

. Implement donor engagement strategies aligned with the Society's overall supporter engagement and fundraising objectives.
. Manage donor portfolios across corporate and philanthropic segments, ensuring tailored engagement, stewardship and structured communication approaches.
. Support the development of long-term donor programmes, such as multi-year giving, donor circles, corporate donor initiatives and the Society's 1000EP Programme.
. Identify opportunities to deepen donor relationships through meaningful engagement, impact reporting and recognition.

2. Donor Stewardship and Relationship Management

. Oversee donor stewardship processes, including acknowledgements, reporting, recognition and ongoing communications.
. Ensure fulfilment of donor commitments and funding agreements in collaboration with Finance, Centres and programme teams.
. Maintain accurate donor records, engagement histories and reporting data in the donor management system, which should be continually enhanced.
. Represent the Society in meetings and engagement activities with donors, as delegated.

3. Fundraising Campaigns and Initiatives

. Lead the planning and execution of donor-focused fundraising campaigns, appeals and engagement activities.
. Support the organisation of fundraising events and donor engagement activities, ensuring quality delivery and positive donor experience.
. Contribute to the development of grant proposals and funding submissions, ensuring clarity of impact, outcomes and resource requirements.

4. Governance, Compliance and Risk Management

. Ensure donor engagement activities comply with organisational policies, governance requirements, and safeguarding standards.
. Support due diligence, screening, and risk assessment processes for donors and funding sources.
. Identify and escalate risks related to donor relationships or funding arrangements, ensuring timely mitigation.

5. Performance Management and Continuous Improvement

. Monitor and track donor engagement and fundraising performance against agreed KPIs and targets.
. Prepare regular reports and insights for the Head of CEP.
. Analyse donor trends, giving patterns and engagement data to inform strategy refinement and continuous improvement.
. Contribute to cross-pillar collaboration with volunteer and partner engagement teams to strengthen integrated supporter engagement.

6. Any other duties and responsibilities as directed.

Qualifications and Experience

. Minimum Degree holder
. At least 8 years of relevant experience in fundraising, donor engagement, or stakeholder management, with at least 2 years in a managerial position, preferably in the social service or non-profit sector.
. Demonstrated experience managing donor relationships and delivering fundraising campaigns or programmes.
. Experience working with corporate donors and individual philanthropists.
. Sound understanding of governance, compliance and safeguarding considerations in donor engagement.
. Strong communication, relationship management, and organisational skills.
