[What the role is]
Part of the team that drives the development and implementation of data strategy within NCSS and sector as well as oversee data governance policies, to enable NCSS to drive forward its business priorities.[What you will be working on]
1. Develop data strategy for NCSS and sector to enable data-informed decision making:
Collaborate with NCSS teams to formulate, refine and prioritise data use cases alongside the business questions to be addressed, aligned to NCSS business priorities for the next 3-5 years
Formulate strategies to implement the prioritised use cases in areas relating to data requirements, governance, technology, process, people and skills needed
Identify emerging data trends to either mitigate risks or leverage opportunities
Formulate a longer-term data strategy for NCSS to prepare ahead
Regularly assess and update data strategies to ensure relevance and
Track and report the success of the data strategy to senior management and relevant transformation platforms.
2. Develop and execute actionable plans to implement the prioritised use cases:
Work with NCSS teams to identify, streamline and collect the relevant quality data needed for the prioritised use cases
Partner NCSS central data analytics team and relevant stakeholders to support NCSS teams to advance data use and
Promote and sustain a data-informed culture within NCSS by curating necessary data capability resources and working with HR to equip officers with the right competencies and effect the necessary change management strategies.
3. Ensure adherence and compliance to data governance policies within NCSS:
Establish NCSS data governance frameworks in line with whole of government imperatives
Develop initiatives to ensure NCSS adherence and compliance with the data governance policies and
Assess requests on matters related to data acquisition, sharing and exchange.
4. Secretariat of Data Management Standing Committee.
5. Any other duties as assigned from time to time by the management.

Experience & Special Certification(s):
At least 5 years experience in data strategy and governance, or a related field.
Familiarity with IM8, Data Protection and Governance Principles and Processes, and WOG standards would be useful.
